06.24.08 (11:20 am) [edit]A child curious as many, head full of ideas, no concrete beliefs, the mind wanders, the body follows brisk feet eagerly navigate a narrow path, a route often taken, rarely enjoyed, weary feet slow to a hault, breathe, a calm mind continues the trail, challenges encountered become lessons learned, lapses evolve to examples, as the trail widens the trees begin to clear, a sky of dewy leaves becomes an endless ocean, sapphire empyrean broken only by piercing starlight, as the forest disappears and concedes to open fields, difficulty degrading sparking anticipation, the beauty of the surrounding, clouded by vast excitement, eyes close, heart slows, mind is clear, although the journey is merely continued, the feeling is new, darting eyes capture images of life, embrace the earth, release your soul, let your inner self shatter ridiculous insecurities, a tired body dashes for open water, cold moisture dissipates heated skin, a confused mind stares at an aged face and argent hair. -Josh Montoya
